Eligibility Requirements for The Southern Belle Invitation Classes

 

Western Pleasure:

  • Open Riders:  All riders are eligible to show in this category.
  • Intermediate Open Riders:  All riders are eligible for entry except those whose lifetime NSBA open earnings exceed $75,000 and whose lifetime earnings in the Open WP place them in the Top 20 money earners as of Dec 31 of the prior year.  At the Southern Belle Invitation 2008, the Intermediate Classes will run prior to the Open portion of the class.  No additional entry fee will be required, but your eligibility as an Intermediate rider will need to be declared at entry and you must pay entry into the Open portion of the class.  The purse will be divided between the Open and the Intermediate on a ratio of Open to Intermediate riders.
  • Limited Open Riders:  All riders are eligible to enter EXCEPT those riders whose lifetime NSBA Open WP earnings exceed $7,500.
  • 3 y/o Novice Horse Class:  Horse can not have won more than $1,000 in all earnings in the prior year.
  • 3 YO Novice Horse WP Slot Class: The horse can not have won more than $1,000 in Western Pleasure events- all monies through its 2 YO year in Western Pleasure events count.  This DOES NOT include longe line monies but DOES INCLUDE all sanctioned and non-sanctioned monies.  This is a sanctioned event and each slot owner will be required to pay $50 for each entry.

Non-Pro Riders:

  • Breeder's NonPro Rider/Novice Horse:  For both WP and HUS.  This is not a sanctioned class.  Rider must hold a NonPro Card.  The horse cannot have won a World or National Championship or Reserve or National Reserve Championship.  The horse cannot have won more than $2,500.
  • Open Non-Pro:  All NonPro riders are eligible to enter.
  • Intermediate Non-Pro:  All riders are eligible to enter EXCEPT those riders whose lifetime NSBA Non Pro WP earnings exceed $5,000.
  • Limited Non-Pro- All Non:  All Non Pro are eligible for participation EXCEPT those riders whose earnings in Non Pro WP exceed $5,000.
  • Novice Non-Pro Western Pleasure:  All Non-Pro riders whose earnings in the Non-Pro WP do not exceed $2,500.

 Hunter Under Saddle:

  • Open HUS:  All riders are eligible to enter.
  • Limited HUS:  All riders are eligible for participation EXCEPT those riders whose lifetime Open HUS NSBA earnings exceed $15,000.

Open and Limited Open HUS classes will run concurrently at The Southern Belle Invitation with the purse being paid out in the ratio of Open to Limited Riders.  The Limited Division will be placed and asked to remain in the pen so that these same Limited riders may be placed in the Open as applicable.


Yearling Longe Line:

  • Limited Non-Pro Yearling Longe Line: This is a Non-NSBA Class.  This class will run concurrently with the Non-Pro Open Yearling Longe Line.  To be a participant in the Limited Non-Pro Yearling Longe Line Class you must have a paid entry into the Non-Pro Open portion of the Yearling Longe Line Class, and pay the addional fee for the Limited purse.  You are eligible to be a participant in the Limited Non-Pro Yearling Longe Line if you DO NOT HAVE NON-PRO Yearling Longe Line earnings of over $7,500.  All horses will be exhibited and the Limited will be placed first followed by the Open Non-Pro.
